# Google Position

## This article provides a brief guide to scraping Google Position.

You can track your website's ranking on Google for specific keywords. Utilize your domain databases to monitor how your website performs in Google search results automatically.

To scrape Google Position data according to your request, please follow these steps:

1. In your account, go to **My Subscriptions** → **Manage**.

2. Click **Create New Task**.

3. Select the “Google Position” engine and click **Create task**.

4. In the window that opens, fill in the required fields: 
     - Enter a search query (max. 200 characters).
     - Select a country from the drop-down list (proxy region).
     - Select a domain and the number of result pages (max. 100) – optional.
     - Switch the toggle to “**On**” for mobile device search results.
     - “**Safe search**”, “**Content type**”, “**Upload date**” (optional).
     - “**Safe Search**” – switch the toggle to “**On**” if you want to filter out explicit content like pornography and graphic violence from your search results, including images, text, and links.
5. Click **Create task**.

6. Check the dashboard and download the results. Collected data:

All scrapers within the “Position Monitoring” group:

- **Focus on organic impressions.** The position number provided in the response will be the organic position, excluding any promotional or paid advertising.
- **Complete the task as soon as they detect the specified domain.**  
  For example, if you set the "**Content page limit**" parameter = **25** and the desired domain is located on the 3rd page, the scraper will automatically stop the analysis without proceeding to the next pages.

“Match Type” Customisation – the ability to match the searched position by:

- Exact domain
- Top level domain
- Exact url
- Substring

Example:

- **Search Query**: What is VPN

- **Domain of the site** you are looking for: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual\_private\_network
